Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed

The girls are keeping their eyes open now, looking around and trying to see everything all at once.

Before, they pretty much just looked like babies. Really pretty babies, for sure, but still. Now, they are really beautiful babies, with really pretty blue eyes that absolutely melt their Daddy's heart.

Here are some of Ava:

And also some of Bella:

Mama, I'm Coming Home

After two weeks spent at the Kentucky Children's Hospital, our baby girls were ready to come home. We actually got to bring them home alittle earlier than we initially thought--a nurse we had never really talked to said it would "probably" be "about" ten "or so" days before we could take them home. After two days the doctor said we would get to take them home on Saturday. So imagine how happy we were when they called us on Friday and told us it was time! (By the way, evidentally predicting the weather is more accurate than at least one other thing.)

Now, on to the pictures.

Here is Bella getting her first non-hospital bath:

And since we can't embarrass one without also embarrassing the other, here is Ava's:

Here is another, which twin is anyone's guess, drying off in the cute duck towel that Dusty gave her:

Here they are a little bit later, in slightly better moods. First, Ava:

And then Bella:

Here is a good one of them together:

Here is Ava with our favorite haircut: (Mohawks are cool. Mr. T says so.)

It's Go Time!

Although we have just started, we thought we would back up a bit...way back to roughly two months ago, when Trina's cousin Brittany had to take both Trina and David to the hospital because, 1. Trina's water had just broke while watching a movie, effectively ruining Britanny's couch, and 2. David froze, standing there like a deer caught in headlights (note: I can honestly say I don't really remember all of this--David).

We'll skip to roughly 12 hours later, when our babies were finally here on June 12, 2008.

Here's Daddy holding Ava for the first time:

And here is Mommy and Daddy with Ava for an early feeding:

Bella had some complications early on, so we didn't get to handle her very much at the start. Here she is, all stuck full of wires inside her little glass house:

Here's Bella still hooked up to all of those gadgets again:

And here's Ava again, this time posing a little for the camera:
By the way, Ava looks just like Bella in that picture. We promise that its Ava though!

The wonderful nursing staff at the Kentucky Children's Hospital gave Ava this cute little hat that we absolutely adored. She wore this hat just about every day that the girls stayed in the NICU:

We didn't get to take any pictures of them together until they had been in the hospital for almost two weeks. Here is a real good one though--it looks like they are holding hands!

Oh, and by the way...while David likes to claim he got no sleep during his entire stay in the hospital, Trina would like to present the following piece of evidence:

Welcome!

Hey all...David and Trina with our very first blog attempt. If you would like to see what blogging is supposed to look like, feel free to visit our friends over at the Dukes of Lawrence or at the Burks Bunch. But if you would like to see pics of the most beautiful twin girls in the world, take your coat off and stay awhile.

We are David and Trina Stark, and like the title says, we are Stark Raving Mad with the newest additions to our lives, Ava and Bella. We are in completely over our heads, but enjoying every last moment of our newly complicated lives.

We love you all, and Enjoy!
