It's Go Time!

Although we have just started, we thought we would back up a bit...way back to roughly two months ago, when Trina's cousin Brittany had to take both Trina and David to the hospital because, 1. Trina's water had just broke while watching a movie, effectively ruining Britanny's couch, and 2. David froze, standing there like a deer caught in headlights (note: I can honestly say I don't really remember all of this--David).

We'll skip to roughly 12 hours later, when our babies were finally here on June 12, 2008.

Here's Daddy holding Ava for the first time:

And here is Mommy and Daddy with Ava for an early feeding:

Bella had some complications early on, so we didn't get to handle her very much at the start. Here she is, all stuck full of wires inside her little glass house:

Here's Bella still hooked up to all of those gadgets again:

And here's Ava again, this time posing a little for the camera:
By the way, Ava looks just like Bella in that picture. We promise that its Ava though!

The wonderful nursing staff at the Kentucky Children's Hospital gave Ava this cute little hat that we absolutely adored. She wore this hat just about every day that the girls stayed in the NICU:

We didn't get to take any pictures of them together until they had been in the hospital for almost two weeks. Here is a real good one though--it looks like they are holding hands!

Oh, and by the way...while David likes to claim he got no sleep during his entire stay in the hospital, Trina would like to present the following piece of evidence:
